- completes presentation in allotted time.
- is skilled at public speaking: speaks clearly and distinctly, makes eye contact, has professional body language.
- almost always makes correct use of language and avoids jargon.
- almost always understands questions and answers them directly and correctly.
- uses professional appearing visual materials to reinforce verbal presentation and to highlight information and summarize data.
WRITTEN:
The student:
- almost always makes points clearly.
- uses a tone that is almost always appropriate for audience.
- organizes material for ease of understanding.
- almost always uses correct grammar and mechanics.
- uses figures and diagrams to summarize, illustrate, explain, and clarify material.
- produces text and figures that are neat and professional.
- avoids jargon and informality.
- almost always uses correct terminology of the field.

- misses some opportunities to use visual materials to reinforce verbal presentation and to highlight information
and summarize data and/or material is sometimes unprofessional.
WRITTEN:
The student:
- frequently makes points clearly.
- uses a tone that is frequently appropriate for audience.
- creates material that is somewhat organized but could be improved.
- uses grammar and mechanics are mostly correct, but could be improved.
- misses some opportunities to use figures and diagrams used to summarize, illustrate, explain,
and clarify material.
- produces text and figures where most are neat and professional, but some are not.
