National Issues Forum

March 18 - Affirmative Action. Dr. Wendel Manuel will facilitate a session based on materials from the National Issues Forum Institute. The forum will include a 14-minute video outlining three public policy options on a basis for discussion. Pre-Forum and Post-Forum ballots allow the audience to consider their own views prior to and after discussion.

Student Research Conference on Gender

March 21 - The conference will include presentations by both undergraduate and graduate students, and is multi-disciplinary, centering on issues and knowledge related to gender. KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr. Mary Crawford, author of Talking Difference: On Gender & Language.

Technology Workshops and Demonstrations

March 3 - Beginner PhotoShop 4.0. PhotoShop is a dynamic tool for educators who need to do simple and complex changes to a graphic. This will be a demonstration for those faculty and staff who are not familiar with the program and want to learn what it can do for them. Limited to 10 participants.

March 4 - Intermediate PhotoShop 4.0. This demonstration is for those who are familiar with the basics of PhotoShop but want to learn even more! This demonstration includes a more detailed look at what PhotoShop has to offer. Limited to 8 participants.

The Future of Multimedia Approaches to Education
Sponsored by the Center for Music Technology and the Faculty Development Center

Two programs led by visiting scholar Stephen Arnold of Glasgow, Scotland will feature demonstrations of materials used in creating interactive courseware linked to the needs of specific courses using computer-mediated conferencing via email, creating multimedia reference materials, and small group discussion.
