Toward a Seamless Learning Environment

Dr. James Anderson, Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Studies at North Carolina State University, will present opening remarks and facilitate a two-hour workshop on ways to improve student learning at RU. An American Council on Education Fellow and a Danforth Fellow, Dr. Anderson has presented workshops at over 200 conferences, colleges, and universities. He is a dynamic speaker who brings to our campus an understanding of learning communities and of the institutional and individual changes necessary to bring them about.

5:45-6:30 p.m. -- Buffet supper

6:30-8:30 p.m. -- Workshop led by Dr. Anderson


Get involved with your colleagues in a workshop on setting high expectations, increasing students' time on task, promoting active learning, using cooperative learning, making better use of feedback on assignments, teaching in ways that account for diverse learning styles, and improving student-faculty interactions.
