Nutrition Alumna
Wins Leadership Award 
RADFORD -- Radford University 2002 dietetics graduate and
Uniontown, Ohio, native Laura Jewett was awarded the American Dietetic
Association Foundation Leadership Award.
The criteria for the national award includes leadership ability,
scholastic achievement, commitment to the American Dietetic Association
and the profession and communication skills.
“Laura's positive attitude towards her internship workload and the
profession of dietetics was quite refreshing and unwavering and I believe
one of her greatest strengths,” says internship coordinator and nutrition
professor Susan Clark. “She represents the dietetics profession with
pride, intelligence, enthusiasm, and qualities that will position her for
success as a practitioner and a mentor.”
Jewett was the coordinator of the Nutrition Counts public service
announcement project. The project began last year and includes short
public service announcements offering tips on healthy eating and living.
The PSA’s are sent out to local and regional radio stations in Southwest
Virginia. |
