New Assistant Coach
Head Coach Kami Sutton has named Chad Sutton as her new Assistant Coach for the 2000-2001 season. Sutton comes from Lakeland, Florida where he spent many years playing and coaching baseball. Sutton has guided George Jenkins High School to many successful seasons with his expertise in pitching and catching. Radford Softball welcomes Chad Sutton to the program!
Special Honor
Head Coach Kami Sutton was selected as one of 15 Division I softball coaches to serve as a clinician at the NCAA YES (Youth Education in Sport) Clinic during the Division I College Softball World Series in Oklahoma City, OK. Sutton instructed over 200 young athletes corner defense during the two day clinic. As part of the honor of her selection, Sutton was allowed to take one RU softball member, Ashleigh Brooks, who also participated in the clinic. Brooks assisted all coaches at each instruction station at the clinic. Sutton and Brooks also obtained free admission to the Division I College Softball World Series as part of their affiliation with the YES Clinic.
