Which Mac System Software are you using?

System 7.5.x
System 7.6.x

A Few Alerts

You must activate your RU email account and set a password before performing these instructions. Without doing so, your PPP connection cannot work at all. You can visit a computer lab on campus to activate your account or call in by a modem (without using PPP). If you have any trouble you can call the Computer Helpdesk at 831-6300 or visit the Helpdesk in Room 155 - Walker Hall.

If you are not sure on which system you are running click on the desktop. Then go to the Apple on the top-left of the screen, and go to "About This Macintosh". You will see memory as well as the sytem software. Look at "System Software _._._". This tells you what system you are running.

Another item to look at is the built-in memory on the system. This is the amount of total physical RAM on your machine. Check to make sure this is about 16 Megs (or it might be specified as 16,384K).
